The BIG Give

It is so important for us to live and give generously. During The BIG Give, there are so many ways you can give, individually, as a family, or even a small group. There are opportunities to give your time, whether you are available during the day, an evening, or on weekends. When you give together its a great way to make new connections and engage with our community in a meaningful way.

The Holiday Hamper Program

Once again, we look forward to partnering with the Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre to help support their Holiday Hamper Program. This program makes a meaningful impact on our community in responding to the food shortage and financial pressure families can experience this time of year. The Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre anticipates the need in our community will continue to grow, and they are preparing to provide 200+ hampers to individuals and families in our community. Each hamper will contain age-appropriate gifts and a grocery gift card provided by sponsors as well as top-up items such as mitts, hats, socks, and other holiday comforts provided by community groups.


Below are some ways you can give your resources and/or give your time.

  • Sponsor a Holiday Hamper

    Below are the approximate costs associated with each size hamper:

    • 1-2 Persons (approximately $200)
    • 3-4 Persons (approximately $400)
    • 5+ persons (approximately $500 or more)

  • Make a Financial Donation

    Help support the cost of a hamper. These donations will be used to purchase extra items that are most needed, such as mittens, blankets, boots, and hygiene items. Make sure you indicate that your donation is for ‘Holiday Hampers.’

  • Stacking Food Shelves/Sorting Hamper Boxes

    This will take place at the Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre on:

    • Monday November 16, 6:30 - 8:00pm
    • Tuesday December 1, 6:30 - 8:00pm
    • Thursday December 17, 6:30 - 8:00pm

    This will take place at Wilmot Centre Church on:

    • Saturday December 5, 10:00am - 12:00pm

  • Delivering Hampers

    Deliveries to sponsored families will be taking place during the weeks of December 7th - 11th, and 14th - 18th. Day-time and evening availability needed.

    There are other ways you can give towards the Hamper program, including signing cards, helping families fill out applications, shopping, unloading trucks after community parades, etc. Send us an email if you are interested in any of these opportunities.
